   Step-by-step instructions :

You must do step 1d (preselection) or step 3 (in-tool selection) to perform this operation.

1 . Before using this tool:

1a : A group member must have been created using Create Member Group .

1b : Open ( Ctrl + o ) a view that includes the group member and the members you want to add to it. Be aware that you can select any members that are within the depth check limits of that view.

1c (optional) : Set " Automatically process after modeling operation " to ' Process and create solids ' (or, possibly, to ' Use Site Default ') if you want the members affected by this operation to automatically undergo Process and Create Solids in step 5.

Select Items bindings (step 1d)

1d (optional) : In Select Items mode with an appropriate selection filter selected, use Select or Select+ (or draw an area box ) to select the members that you want to add to the group member. Use Select- if you want to deselect members.

2 . Invoke Add Member to Group Member using any one of the following methods:

Method 1 : Click the Add Member to Group Member icon. The icon can be taken from the group named ' Model -- Group Member ' and placed on a toolbar (classic) or the ribbon (lightning).

Method 2 : If " Modeling layout style " is ' Classic ', you can use the menu system to choose Model > Group Member > Add Member to Group Member .

Method 3, 4 or 5 : Add Member to Group Member can also be configured to be invoked using a keyboard shortcut , the context menu , or a mode . For the lightning interface, this configuration is done using Customize Interface .

3 . Skip this step if you preselected members in step 1d.

Select Item(s) bindings

3a (if you didn't preselect) : Add Member to Group Member prompts you to use Select Item(s) mouse bindings to Select and/or Select+ one or more members. You can also select the members by drawing an area box or using the Model Tree . Press the Enter key or right-click ( Menu ) and choose " OK " on the menu when you are done selecting the member(s).

4 . The status line prompts, " Select group member to add member to " and Select One Item mouse bindings become active.

Select One Item bindings

4a : Left-click ( Select ) the one group member that you want to add the member to.

5 . What happens next depends on the choice made to User and Site Options > Modeling > " Automatically process after modeling operation ."

If " Automatically process ... " is set to ' Process and create solids ', the members affected by this operation automatically undergo Process and Create Solids , resulting in solids being created.

If " Automatically process ... " is set to ' Do nothing ' or ' Process ', the affected members will all be shown in stick form. You will have to Process > Process and Create Solids in order to be able to display the affected members in a solid form .
